Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

This policy explains how SkilledCarer handles personal information when you visit the website, create an account or use our recruitment services. Contact us at admin@skilledcarer.co.uk with privacy questions.

Information we collect

We collect account and contact details, profile information, employment preferences, qualifications, work-status information, organisation details, jobs, applications, messages, saved items and reports you submit. We also receive technical and security information such as IP address, device information and sign-in activity.

Payment card details are collected by Stripe rather than stored directly by SkilledCarer. We may receive billing identifiers, subscription status and transaction records from Stripe.

How we use information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts, provide candidate and employer features, display profiles according to visibility settings, process applications and messages, administer subscriptions, investigate reports, prevent misuse, improve the service and meet legal obligations.

Our lawful bases

Depending on the activity, we process information because it is necessary to provide the service you requested, to comply with legal obligations, with your consent, or for legitimate interests such as operating a safe recruitment marketplace, preventing fraud and improving the service. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Who receives information

Information may be shared with candidates or employers as part of the service and with providers that support hosting, authentication, databases, email, bot protection and payments. These currently include Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Cloudflare and Stripe where the relevant feature is used. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect people and the platform.

International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use providers that offer recognised transfer safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.

How long we keep information

We retain information while your account is active and afterwards only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including security, dispute resolution, financial records and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. You can ask us to delete your account information, subject to lawful exceptions.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict your information, receive a portable copy, and object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis used.

To exercise a right, email us. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security and updates

We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change and will publish the revised date here.
